As many of you heard during the 2025–2026 season, our uniform supply is aging and in need of a major update. The Warriors have also had the same look for a number of years, and the Board of Directors believes this is a great opportunity to refresh the program’s appearance, create excitement for the players, and improve uniform management moving forward.

With that background, we are excited to announce that the Warriors junior high and high school teams will be wearing new uniforms for the 2026–2027 season!

There are several important logistical items we want to communicate early.

First, we are moving to player/family-owned uniforms. After consultation with other programs and uniform providers, the Board believes this is the best path forward. Our current system requires the program and volunteers to manage off-season storage, uniform check-in and check-out, number tracking, lost and damaged uniforms, and replacement issues each season. Moving to family-owned uniforms will simplify that process and allow players to keep and reuse their uniforms.

The new uniforms will be full sublimation print uniforms, which are highly durable and well-suited for long-term athletic use. With proper care, these uniforms should last families for several seasons. The design is infused into the fabric rather than applied on top of it, which helps prevent cracking, peeling, and fading.

Families may also choose to sell or pass along used uniforms to other Warriors families in future years, provided the uniform is still in acceptable game condition and the number and size work for the receiving player. This should help some families recoup a portion of the original cost and allow other families to purchase used uniforms at a lower cost than buying new.

Thanks to last year’s successful Free Throw Fundraiser and several generous donations, families who already paid the $75 uniform fee will receive a $75 credit toward the purchase of the new uniform. Final costs are still being confirmed, but we currently expect the out-of-pocket cost for returning players who already paid the uniform fee to be approximately $50.

New players to the program, including players entering junior high, will be responsible for the full uniform cost, currently estimated at approximately $125.

The Warriors will not be increasing junior high or high school registration costs this year. We will continue to fundraise and manage program resources carefully in an effort to minimize future cost increases for families.

Uniform sizing will take place at the boys and girls open gyms on July 20 and July 21. We will also have volunteers available to help with sizing during the Summer Clinic on July 23–25. These will be walk-in sizing opportunities, and it is very important that as many players as possible get sized during this window so we can place the uniform order on time and receive uniforms before games begin.

While some details are still being finalized, the Board wanted to give families as much notice as possible so you can plan accordingly and so our players can begin looking forward to a new and exciting look this season.

Need-based assistance is always available for families who want to participate in the Warriors program but are facing significant financial limitations. Please do not hesitate to approach any Board member if you have a financial need related to registration or uniforms.

In the weeks to come, we will share more details, including additional partial reveals of the new uniforms. Please watch for future emails, website updates, and social media posts.

Thank you,

The Des Moines Warriors Board of Directors
